Nude photo leaks haunt celebs
Jennifer Lawrence, left, and Kate UptonAn alleged leak of nude pictures involving celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton has erupted into a major issue, with the FBI and tech giant Apple looking into what happened. Lawrence, a three-time Oscar nominee, contacted authorities after her nude photos emerged. Other nude photos, allegedly of female celebrities, were also posted. Lawrence's publicist Liz Mahoney wrote in a statement that the incident is “a flagrant violation of privacy.'' FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that the agency was addressing the allegations, though she stopped short of saying what actions it would take. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said it had launched an internal investigation into whether any iCloud accounts had been tampered with. iCloud is Apple’s internet-based service for synchronizing content across devices such as iPhones, iPads and Macs.Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead also confirmed that her nude photos were posted online.
