By Park Si-soo Human bones found inside a factory's water purifying tank in Hwaseong are believed to be those of a Filipino worker who went missing in January 2016, police said in an interim investigation report, Tuesday. Police are trying to contact the worker's family in the Philippines for a DNA test. The worker was in his early 30s when he vanished. He arrived in South Korea in August 2014 and worked at a manufacturing plant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.Workers found the bones, inside a jacket, while cleaning the plant's water purifying tank early this month. Investigators believed this happened when the man was alive. “Now we are working to find the person responsible,” a police official said. Police said the victim was believed to have been killed elsewhere and the body then dumped in the tank.Police said they had believed the victim was a foreigner because the jacket was a Southeast Asian brand not sold in Korea.
