Actress yields boxer career over injury
Lee Si-young, left / YonhapLee Si-young, the actress who doubles as a professional boxer, has reportedly announced plans to retire from the sport after suffering a dislocated shoulder. The 33-year-old, who is part of the Incheon City Hall boxing team, had been training to participate in the 95th National Sports Festival to be held on Jeju Island. Lee came to the decision after failing to recover from a shoulder dislocation she received during practice sparring, a local vernacular reported. The report said Lee, who had suffered the same injury the last year, wanted to push forward with the sports festival but her trainers, worried about her health, persuaded her not to. Ending her two-year-long boxing career, Lee reportedly donated 10 million won ($9,500) to the Incheon Sports Council. Lee is scheduled to appear in an upcoming television series on tvN in November, the report said.
