One company in Korea thinks it has the answer to the notoriously long lines forthe iPhone 6 witnessed in other countries: electronic kiosks.

Customers at stationery store Diaso will be able to pre-order the device using such kiosks beginning Friday, a week before the official release of the device.

Using the kiosks which are affiliated with telecom company KT Corp. customers can register for the device through a digital certification process, which requires photograph ID card authorization and digital signatures.

A coupon is then printed out along with a registration number and date for the product to be delivered to a designated location starting from October 31.

The kiosks have been placed in 12 Daiso stores across Seoul since August, and the company plans to increase the number of locations to 30 nationwide.

The kiosk is a joint project with a company called Phoneplus, which is sponsored by telecom company KT. Those who use the kiosks are registered with the telecom company.

The release of the iPhone 6 marks the first time for an Apple smartphone to be sold by all of Korea's three mobile carriers -- SK Telecom Co., KT Corp. and LG Uplus Inc.

The set price for the iPhone 6 in South Korea is to be determined on October 29, two days before its launch date.
