/ Courtesy of YouTube A man in Turkey has been fined for telling his wife he does not love her, the Daily Sabah newspaper reports.The couple had sought compensation from each other in their divorce hearing.The Supreme Court of Appeal decided that the man saying “I don’t love you” caused “emotional violence’ and ordered him to pay compensation.The woman said she was “emotionally wrecked.”

Boy dies from theme park ride

/ YonhapA 12-year-old boy died after falling from a ride at an amusement park in South Chungcheong Province on Saturday morning.The giant zip line ride stretching across the theme park in Boeun District, was carring the boy 20 meters in the air, when he fell at 10:35 a.m.He was pronounced dead on his way to a nearby hospital."The pulley sustaining the zip-line broke and fell off, and that's how the boy fell," a witness was quoted as saying.Police confirmed that safety facilities had not been checked before leaving the platform before the ride had started.A joint investigation with the police and theme park affiliates is being conducted.

Sunny of Girls' GenerationK-pop fans of Girls Generation member Sunny have clashed over a post on Instagram.The March 1st Movement day, a national holiday commemorating the independence movement against Japanese colonialism in 1919, is also a day to raise Korea’s national flag.Sunny took to her personal Instagram account to upload a picture of the national flag, the Taegukgi, and wrote the famous Churchill quote, "A nation that forgets its past has no future."Korean fans welcomed the K-pop celebrity's patriotic gesture, but Japanese fans were unimpressed.Users wrote in Japanese, "Did you think this way when you were on your Japan tour?" and "Don't ever come to Japan again."Korean fans had defended Sunny, pointing out that she never said anything about Japan ㅡ simply that it was an important day for Korea to remember.

On “White Day,” which falls on March 14, men give women candy.According to data from a domestic convenience store chain from Feb. 1-14 and March 1-14 last year, sales of chocolate and candy in the weeks leading up to White Day were 8.3 percent higher.On White Day, sales rocketed 923 percent from average daily sales in the preceding two weeks. On Valentine’s Day, sales soared 779 percent.Industry sources say this reflects the tendency of men to buy gifts at convenience stores on the actual day, whereas women bought gifts from various outlets ahead of the day.

The onset of spring moved up 2.6 days per decade, according to a recent study. The phenomenon of spring coming earlier is attributed to global warming.By Kim Bo-eunThe day marking the start of spring has moved up 2.6 days per decade, bringing it some 10 days earlier than it was 37 years ago, a recent study shows.The start of spring is defined in meteorology as the day where the daily mean temperature reaches 5 degrees Celsius or above and doesn’t fall again.The study was published in the Korean Geographical Society’s journal last October. It was conducted by Kwon Jae-il, a researcher at the Climate Science Bureau, part of the Korea Meteorological Administration, and Choi Young-eun, a professor at the department of geography at Konkuk University. The research team analyzed the onset of spring by looking at the daily mean temperatures of 43 locations across the country, excluding Jeju Island, from 1974 to 2011. The average spring onset was March 11. The earliest spring onset came in 2009, on Feb. 27. The latest was in 1996, when it occurred on March 21.In general, the onset
