Five die in campsite blaze

The pre-dawn fire left five dead, including three children, and two injured. / YonhapBy Lee Min-hyungFive people died and two were injured when a tent caught fire at a camping site on Gangwhado Island, Incheon, west of Seoul, on Sunday.Firemen took 15 minutes to put out the blaze, which started at about 2 a.m. The dead included a man, 37, surnamed Lee, his sons, 6, and 11, an unidentified man and a girl.“It took only a minute for the tent to burn down," Incheon Ganghwa Fire Station chief Ryu Hwan-hyeong said. “Materials used for the tent caught fire easily.” Lee’s son, 8, and a man named Park, 43, were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.Park, who was in a nearby tent, rushed into the burning tent to try to save the others.”Everyone but the boy was unconscious," Park told police. "He (Lee’s son) was standing inside the tent, so I saved him." Police are investigating what caused the fire.
