Making a good first impression in a job interview is pivotal, so some job seekers even subject themselves to cosmetic surgery to do this.

According to a survey by employment web portal JobKorea, over 85 percent of personnel officers at Korean companies say they don’t hire job applicants, if their first impressions are not good enough.

Over 20 percent of applicants said they were interested in having plastic surgery in order to help them ace job interviews, the survey found.

“Great first impressions give that precious bit of edge that makes or breaks their chance of getting the job they want so they are willing to use beauty enhancement, including surgery,” said an EZ communications spokesperson commenting on the results of the survey.

White teeth that form big inviting smiles are one sure way of creating a good first impression, contributing to robust sales of whitening treatments such as Amore Pacific’s “I am white” gel.

The “Facial Fitness Pao” by Koreatech is one popular item on the market used to enable shiny white smiles.

It helps tighten facial muscles and counter the effects of aging when customers wear the device in their mouth for 60 seconds.

Other popular items include Super Million Hair’s hair thickening spray, which the manufacturer says makes bald patches vanish instantly. Another product is Giorgio Armani’s “Eye & Brow Maestro,” a product that functions as an eyebrow pencil, eye shadow, eye liner and hair liner and “Pearl Brightening CC Cream” by Vant365 for men.
