Police said the suspect was angry because his brother was indifferent while he was in prison for taking drugs.The man claimed he had not planned the killing. “I stabbed him only to hurt him. I had no intention of killing him,” he said.But police believe the killing was planned. They said the man brought the knife to the cafe and stabbed his brother with it multiple times a few minutes after they met there.After the attack, the man fled the scene, but was apprehended 10 hours later at a hotel in Bucheon.The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim, surnamed Kang, 36, was meeting Ko on Jeju to see their six-year-old son for the first time in two years since she took custody after their divorce. Kang's family reported him missing after he didn't return.Ko traveled to Wando from Jeju on a ferry three days after the alleged murder. She was caught on surveillance camera footage throwing a plastic bag into the ocean during her trip. She had purchased 30 trash bags and a suitcase from a supermarket about two hours before she left Jeju. The man, surnamed Park, 40, started driving in the opposite direction at 7:16 a.m. He crashed into a Kia Forte 18 minutes later. Park and his son, 3, died at the scene. Choi, 29, the driver of the car, was taken to hospital but died shortly after. She was on her way to work. Police were chasing Park's truck but could not stop him before the collision.
