RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK Lima Plus offers Peruvian feasts in Hapjeong

In a basement near Hapjeong Station is Lima Plus, a restaurant offering a sampling of Peruvian cuisine. The interior is inviting and stylish, with the black-and-red color scheme, strategically placed columns and moody lighting creating an intimate vibe at the tables. A large screen creates a focal point at the front of the restaurant but, thankfully, its lack of sound means that conversation is always possible. The fixtures, primarily consisting of some knick-knacks on the shelves and photos on the walls, give a friendly aura while not appearing cloying. Overall, the first impression of the restaurant is a classy one. This continues with the food. I opted for the seafood set, which at four courses came to a very reasonable 48,000 won. There is also a meat set, where the main consists of lomo saltado and a different dessert is served, for an extra 6,000 won, There are also a la carte options and all drinks are extra. Both sets began with appetizers named causa, potato cakes filled with langostin and criss-crossed with a sharp, spicy sauce. These are quite the preeminent Peruvian delicacy

Artistic duo explores power of language in new tech-driven project

Breaking away from their typical large-scale installations, the artistic duo Kimchi and Chips presents their project titled "Unread Characters." This work intertwines neuroscience and technology to delve into the power of language, examining how it is collectively created and the inherent fleeting nature of its meaning. Upon entering the gallery, viewers see two optical installations made up of lightboxes and lenses that illuminate to form written characters. As viewers move within the gallery, the illuminated characters change in response to their movements. Characters are written on small squares scattered on a small platform. To the left of the optical installations is a video monitor featuring the process of writing the characters onto paper. On the opposite wall, there are two UV prints of the characters and another video monitor of the characters rendered as 3D objects that rotate in various directions. The Korean-British team’s own cultural confluence shaped "Unread Characters." In an interview with The Korea Times, British artist Elliot Woods, one half of the Seoul-based duo,
