Korean Way of Tea to Be Presented YEOL, Society for Korean Cultural Heritage, is pleased to announce its eighth annual lecture series in association with the Seoul Museum of History. On April 6, Brother Anthony, a graduate of the Queen's College, Oxford University, and currently professor emeritus in the English Department of Sogang University, will present the Korean Way of Tea: Past and Present. Brother Anthony was born in England and came to Korea in 1980. He has published many volumes of translations of Korean poetry and fiction into English and is the author of "The Korean Way of Tea" published by Seoul Selection in 2007. His lecture will include a tea serving demonstration by tea-master Hong Kyeong-hee and cover topics such as the history of tea, how tea is served and the complex early history of Korean tea. The lectures are on Tuesdays and will be held on April 6, May 4, June 1, Sept. 7, Oct. 5 and Nov. 2. Orientation for Cross-Cultural Volunteers Become a volunteer with the UNESCO Cross-Cultural Awareness Program (CCAP) and share information about your culture and country with Korean school children. An orientation for new volunteers will be held on March 26 in Myeong-dong, Seoul, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, on the 10th floor of the KNCU Building. Workshop Held for English Teachers

The 7th annual KOTESOL Seoul chapter conference will be held on March 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at Soongshil University. There will be six featured speakers, six workshop strands and 29 workshops covering a range of topics to help those involved in English education in Korea. David Deubelbeiss, a popular presenter and creator of EFL Classroom 2.0, will discuss "Korean Content for Korean Students" in the "English in Public Education" strand. Chris Haswell & Joseph Siegel from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan, will talk about "University Listening Classes: Less Product, More Process" in "The Forgotten Skills" section. Anti-Dolphin Hunting Group Rises

Fifty years ago, Ric O'Barry thought nothing of trapping and capturing dolphins, acts which went on to amuse a generation in the American TV show Flipper.? Five decades on, and O'Barry has mended his ways, this time giving the world the docu-drama "The Cove," in which the bloody trade of dolphin hunting in Japan is exposed.? Japan traps at least 20,000 dolphins every year, some of which end up on the dinner plates of the wealthy, others snapped up by aquariums for exorbitant sums.? To raise awareness and funds for the drive to bring a halt to the trade, the Blue Dolphins, a monthly live music showcase, is staging an event called Dolphin Friendly at Roofers Bar in Itaewon on March 27, including a screening of "The Cove," released last year.
