One of the programs is dubbed the “K-convention promotion project” aimed at better publicizing international conferences held in Korea. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced earlier this week the results of a survey about Koreans touring natural, historical and cultural attractions on footIt was conducted on 4,000 people aged between 15 and 79 nationwide from December 2018 to November 2019.The survey showed 37 percent of respondents went for walks during the period, up 6.1 percentage points from a year earlier. They went on an average of 4.2 trips.The increase was especially high among those in their 20s (9.7 percentage points) and 30s (12.1). While most people walked with family members (50.8 percent) and friends (33 percent), those traveling alone sharply increased to 17.7 percent from 5 percent the previous year.
