By Lee Kyung-minToh Shin-wooKorea’s first male fashion model, Toh Shin-woo, 70, has been indicted for sexually harassing a female employee of his firm, Model Center International.According to the Seoul Eastern Prosecutors’ Office, Toh has been under investigation for allegedly sexually harrassing a female employee who accompanied him on a trip to Milan, Italy, in October.During the trip, Toh asked the alleged victim, whose identity was withheld, to come to his hotel room and tried to kiss her on the cheek three times even though she objected to it, the prosecution said.The alleged victim said she left the room after Toh tried to kiss her on the lips, even after she repeatedly said “no.”As soon as she returned to Korea from the trip, she filed a complaint with police and quit her job.Toh has denied the allegations. Binggrae recalls salmonella-infected milk

By Lee Kyung-min Binggrae, a major food firm, has recalled thousands of milk cartons found to be infected with salmonella, the company said Thursday.The company recalled some 128,000 340-milliliter cartons of “melon milk” after the company received a lab report indicating the presence of the bacterium.The products were processed in a company factory in Gimhae, south Gyeongsang Province, on March 31 with a marked expiration date of April 11.“We decided to recall all the products before they reach consumers. The factory has put on hold the production for the moment, and our officials are conducting an on-site inspection,” the company official added.  “We hope consumers will understand our effort in dealing with the problem in a prompt manner. From now on, we promise to toughen our safety measure in the manufacture process.”Salmonella is bacteria known to cause food poisoning and fever.

Torso murder victim is Korean Chinese woman

By Lee Kyung-minPolice said Tuesday the torso of a woman found on Sunday morning along with other body parts at Sihwa Seawall in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province was that of a 42-year-old Korean Chinese, surnamed Han.Police said they identified her by matching fingerprints from the severed hands found Tuesday with the Ministry of Justice data base.Han was fingerprinted by the immigration service.Police said they are trying to locate her husband who is believed to be staying here.  Earlier, detectives discovered a black plastic bag containing the victim’s missing hand and feet, along with two pairs of plastic gloves, near where the torso was found.On Monday night, police found the victim’s head near the seawall at around 10 p.m., after receiving a call from a visitor who reported seeing “something that looked like a wig.”The head was discovered 80 meters from where the bag containing the limbs was found.Police suspect that the body parts might have initially been inside one plastic bag, but floated apart after being dumped into the water.   Police secu

Police struggle to identify victim of 'torso murder'

By Lee Kyung-minForensic scientists said Monday that a torso found at Sihwa Seawall in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, on Sunday, is that of a woman who once had an operation to remove her appendix.In addition, the victim had an operation to close an arterial tube right after giving birth.Based on these findings, police are trying to identify the victim by checking the list of all missing women and their medical records. French firm sues weather agency
