Kkotbuine, appearing in "Ode to My Father" movie poster, above, attracted tourists with the movie's huge success. / YonhapAn imported goods store in Busan made famous in the Korean box office smash “Ode to My Father” is facing foreclosure, reports said this week. The store, called “Kkotbuine,” is located in Gukje Market. In the film, the protagonist works at store by the same name. With the film’s success, 80,000 to 100,000 tourists have been flooding the market each day. But the booming crowds haven’t translated into revenue for the actual store. The operator of the tiny store, identified by her surname Shin, said she may have to close the business due to a steep increase in the rent she has to pay. “The tourists didn’t buy any goods and only took pictures around the store,” Shin told Star Today, an online newspaper affiliated with the Maeil Business Newspaper. She added that other shop owners had complained to her that the tourists were blocking access to the market.
