TV emcee Kim Gu-ra forced to sell house

Popular television emcee Kim Gu-ra said Wednesday he is selling his house due to financial problems.

On his

MBC talk show Radio Star

, the 46-year-old comedian said he is inviting bidders to his home and jokingly asked his co-hosts to make a bid.

A spokesperson for Kim said last month that the comedian has been struggling to debts totaling some 1.8 billion won ($1.63 million), which were accrued by his wife. Kim has said that his son, also a television personality, is chipping into help the family out of debt.

“It’s not misfortune,” Kim said on the show. “There is fun in wading through such misfortune.”

Kim briefly stopped making television appearances in December after being diagnosed with a panic disorder.
