KT demonstrate fastest LTE

By Kim Yoo-chulLocal telecommunications giant KT said Monday it has teamed up with Intel to demonstrate the fastest-ever wireless data transmission technologies at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), being held in the Spanish city of Barcelona.The technologies include LTE-Advanced tri-band carrier aggregation (CA), which offers a maximum speed of 450Mbps, the fastest ever.KT also released various other advanced mobile wireless technologies, a move aimed at bolstering its profile in its conventionally-strong telecommunications business under its new CEO.Intel is providing modem chipsets for “femtocells” an integral part of KT’s LTE-A telecommunications service. 'SK hynix not to purchase Dongbu'

By Kim Yoo-chulSK hynix Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Park Sung-wook said that the world’s No. 2 memory chip supplier doesn’t have plans to purchase Korea’s Dongbu HiTek, which is currently up for sale.“For the time being, SK hynix isn’t mulling that possibility,” the CEO told reporters at this year’s business meeting with semiconductor firms organized by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) at the COEX InterContinental Hotel, southern Seoul, Friday.To ease worries over a liquidity shortage, Dongbu is pushing to sell 37.16 percent of its stake in its semiconductor affiliate Dongbu HiTek, whose other shareholders are Dongbu CNI and Dongbu Construction. The controlling stake is currently valued at some 120 billion won. Samsung files $9.43mil. suit against Dyson
