The prosecution found out that Roh Gun-pyeong, the brother of the late President Roh Moo-hyun, received 500 million won from the late Keangnam Enterprises Chairman Sung Woan-jong in 2008 in return for his presidential pardon in 2007. But the prosecution said it dropped the case because the five-year statute of limitations expired in 2012.

A total of 13 prosecutors were assigned to the special probe into the late Keangnam Enterprises Chairman Sung Woan-jong’s bribery list. But nobody on the suspect list in the case was placed under arrest. The prosecution indicted former Prime Minister Lee Wan-koo and South Gyeongsang Province Governor Hong Joon-pyo Thursday on charges of receiving illegal campaign funds from the Sung.

The prosecution indicted former Prime Minister Lee Wan-koo and South Gyeongsang Province Governor Hong Joon-pyo Thursday. It has been 83 days since the investigation team was formed, but the probe ended in favor of Cheong Wa Dae.
