Hwang Kwang-hee, of boy band ZE:A, has been named the sixth member of popular reality show “Infinite Challenge.”

The program’s six-week “Six Man” project ended on Saturday when Kwang-hee earned three votes from the shows five hosts.

The program has been seeking a new member since former host No Hong-chul resigned after he was booked for drunken driving in November.

Kwang-hee competed with seven other candidates, including TV comedy show host Jun Hyun-moo, former professional basketball player Seo Jang-hoon, model Hong Jin-kyeong, Choi Si-won of boy band Super Junior, singer Kang Kyun-sung, comedian Jang Dong-min and writer Yoo Byung-jae.

Although Jang Dong-min was one of the strongest candidates, he announced on Tuesday that he would leave the program over controversial remarks about women.

“We didn’t know (that he was named the sixth member) until it was revealed on the program on Saturday,” said an official from Kwang-hee’s management firm, Star Empire Entertainment.

Kwang-hee debuted in 2010 as a member of the nine-member Ze:A. He has since gained popularity with his witty words when appearing on TV shows.
