Rally for ex-prostitutes

Activists call on the government to apologize to and compensate former prostitutes who worked near U.S. bases during a rally in front of Seoul Central District Court, Friday. The court is hearing a compensation suit that about 120 former prostitutes filed against the government last June. They claim the government was deeply involved in operating several brothels near U.S. bases after the 1950-53 Korean War in a scheme to earn foreign currency. / Yonhap
