Hacker cracks women's computers, monitors their private lives

Online video streaming website Africa TV's broadcasting jockies became targets of a computer hacker who hacked into their computers to scrutinize their private lives.

Police arrested a computer hacker for infiltrating women’s computers and scrutinizing their private lives to blackmail them, Seoul Shimmun said Wednesday.
Lee, 18, a college freshmen enrolled in an information security program, tapped into the victims’ computers and captured the most private parts of their lives in photos or videos.
The victims ― a total of 11 ― were all internet broadcasting jockeys for a popular video streaming website, Africa TV. Lee targeted them knowing they stay at home almost all day because of their job.
Lee first planted virus seeds to the victims’ computers which unspooled and took over cameras built in the computers.
Gaining control over the cameras, Lee monitored the bjs through multiple windows at his hideout and recorded them naked when they changed clothes. He also stored their personal information, including chat records and pictures.
Lee blackmailed each bj to pay him in exchange for the data he stole. He asked for as much as 10 million won to the victim.
Busan Gangseo police, after a month-long investigation, tracked down Lee’s location to Mapo-gu, Seoul, and apprehended him at a café near a university in Chungcheong Province.
Police said Lee rampaged with the hacking from January until Feb. 23. Acquiring hacking skills by himself, he has high proficiency in hacking as he can design a virus-spreading program, the report added.
