What was on the shelf for 120,000 won ($110) in discount stores was on sale for 200,000 won ($185).
Owing to the fact that the product was sold out at the supermarkets, online shopping malls were taking advantage and calling their prices as they see fit.
“I was holding back even though I had little choice, seeing how difficult it was to get the product. But it seems like these shopping malls are taking advantage of the fact that parents go all the way out for their children,” Cho said.
The item that Cho has been looking for is the “Epic Dragon” of the “Ninjago Series” from Lego. It was developed based on a popular cartoon movie.
With Christmas right around the corner, parents are going all out to get popular gifts for their children, including the Ultrasonic, which are usually priced at around 100,000 won ($90).
