First the prosecutor, now the police

First it was the prosecutor who sexually assaulted a suspect. Now, a police officer has been placed under arrest for paying for sex with a minor for over two years.

The Gyeonggi police said the 50-year-old officer, a Kim, met the girl when he alerted through a 112 emergency call in January 2010.

Since then, he has been giving her 100,000-150,000 won ($90-130) on eight occasions to have sex at motels in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

He also deposited money totaling 3.35 million won ($3,000) in her account and demanded that she take photos of specific parts of her body and kept them in his mobile phone.

The police officer first ran into the girl when she was a freshman in high school in November of 2009 and began the sexual affair after offering to find her odd jobs since she had run away from home.

After the investigation began, the two made up a story about how they met because of a traffic accident and that the money was just living expenses and was not payment for sex.
