Love of a grandfather for a disabled child
The love for a grandchild with brain lesion was more than anyone could describe. The grandson loved him back. But one day, the grandfather decided that things had to come to an end. They hung themselves together in a warehouse.
Neighbors who knew how the old man was affectionate toward the grandson said he must have seen no other choice. In the end, the ignorance of society sent the grandfather and grandson to their deaths.
It was in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, Sunday, that the 72-year-old Kim was found hung to death with the 12-year-old grandson. His son who was on leave reported the incident to the police. He left a note saying that he was leaving first.
The police said there was no evidence of foul play. “It is something should never have happened but we will make a conclusion after further investigation,” one detective said.
Those with brain lesion cannot function on their own in any capacity. Kim used to look after the child on weekends on behalf of her daughter.
