The third European Christmas market opens today for a two-day run.

Organized by the Seongbuk Global Village and three European embassies, the market will take place at the Seongbukcheon Fountain Square outside Hanseong University Station on subway line 4.

Visitors will find waffles, beer, chocolate mousse, Raclette cheese, sausages, crepes, lasagna, coffee and Christmas cakes from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy. The market is sponsored by the embassies of Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

A raffle, musical performances, Christmas decorations, writing letters to Santa Claus and a gingerbread auction will be held on the sidelines.

Thirty-six embassies in Seoul have residences for their ambassadors in Seongbuk district. In October, the center organized an Islamic cultural festival.

The market opens at 5 p.m. today, and on Saturday, it will open between noon and 8 p.m.
