Kim Dae-jung Receives Award

The late former President Kim Dae-jung was posthumously given the ``Hanshin Award'' Friday for his contribution to democratization in Korea and laying the foundation for peace on the peninsula.

President of Hansin University Chai Soo-il said, ``This award is given for the late president's life-long dedication that goes hand in hand with Hanshin's spirit.''

Lee Hee-ho, Kim's wife, who received the award on Kim's behalf, thanked Christian intellectuals who stood by her husband in fighting for democracy decades ago.
