Piaf Artisan Chocolatier

A favorite among chocolate lovers, Piaf Artisan Chocolatier is often described as a must-visit destination in Seoul for premium handmade chocolates, especially for those seeking elegant Valentine’s Day gifts. The shop is takeout only and does not serve beverages, placing full emphasis on its craft.

Founder and chocolatier Ko Eun-soo, a computer engineering graduate of Seoul National University, discovered handmade chocolate during a 2007 trip to Japan and recalled the tasting experience as “shockingly new and extraordinary.” Piaf’s mission, he said during an interview with his alumni magazine, is to refine that unforgettable encounter and bring it closer to customers. “We use ingredients so high-end that they’re incomparable to mass-produced chocolates."

Piaf’s year-round collection already draws loyal fans, but the chocolatier truly shines with its seasonal releases — none more anticipated than its Valentine’s Day edition. This year’s box, themed “Jardin d’Amour,” reimagines a stroll through a garden, translating that mood into an assortment of bonbons such as strawberry, yuzu hojicha, black sesame and ginger with pine nut. Reservations for the limited edition are already underway and are known to sell out quickly.
