Aroundus is receiving applications for TV Chosun's trot singing audition program for men, “Mr. Trot,” the company said Monday. The Seoul-based IT startup offers an online profile-based social job board and online audition platform.
“Mr. Trot” follows TV Chosun's mega-hit reality show “Miss Trot” for female trot singers. The program hit record-high viewer ratings among entertainment programs aired by non-terrestrial TV channels this year.
This time, TV Chosun's “Mr. Trot” is receiving applications from males aged between 10 and 45 regardless of whether they reside in Korea or overseas.
The top prize includes 100 million won ($85,000) in cash and a digital single release among others.
Those who are interested can apply through aroundus.com via both mobile devices and PCs.
Applications will close on Aug. 15.
The startup added it has launched a public voting feature that is receiving votes for “Best Smile” contestants.
