Aroundus, a Seoul-based startup offering a social job board platform for freelance and temporary workers in the media and entertainment industries, has raised 882 million won ($761,700) in a seed funding round, the company said Monday.
The IT startup said it closed its seed funding round with Shinhan Capital, Shinhan Investment and Korean startup accelerator Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs last week.
Aroundus, founded in August 2016, is a social recruiting and online audition platform based on an open online profile database similar to LinkedIn, but fully optimized for freelance and temporary work in media and entertainment.
Users can recruit freelance and temporary workers like performers and production staff and recruit talent by posting auditions and casting calls online.
Since launching its Korean version of the web service last July, the number of subscribers has surpassed 14,000, according to the company.
