Shinhan Bank has integrated Incheon International Airport’s Smart pass facial recognition system into its mobile app, SOL Bank, to enhance customer convenience, the bank said Friday.

The Smart pass service allows passengers to pass through the airport’s departure gates using facial recognition. By pre-registering their face, passport and boarding pass on the airport’s official app, travelers can streamline the departure process.

The bank and the country’s main gateway signed a business agreement last year to expand service accessibility.

With the latest integration, users can now access the Smart pass directly through the bank’s mobile app without needing to install a separate dedicated app.

Minors aged seven and older can also register through the bank’s app, enabling families to streamline the departure screening process when traveling together.

“We hope that travelers using Incheon International Airport’s departure gates can access the Smart pass more easily and efficiently through our app,” a Shinhan Bank official said. “We will continue to introduce travel-focused products and services, such as the SOL travel card, to enhance the customer experience.”
