Robots could declare war by 2040, expert warns

Ultra-intelligent robots could start a war as early as 2040, a renowned sci-fi author warns.
The British Daily Mail reports that leading sci-fi author Logan Streondj from Canada claims that intelligent robots would be able to start a war against humanity by 2040.
He points out that robots will one day outnumber humans.
If the intelligent robots start to work together against humans, rather than being controlled, it will pose a major threat, he says.
He writes in his blog: “With a growth rate of around 13 percent, we could expect at least 230,000 military robots being produced a year by 2040, and by 2053 there may be nearly a million produced each year.
“In comparison, the American Military has half a million active personnel and about a million in total.”
He predicts a war will take place between 2040 and 2055.
