After two games of three in Group C of the 2016 AFC U23 Championships, South Korea has already qualified for the knockout stage. The Taegeuk Warriors sit on top of the standings after following up Wednesday's 2-1 win over Uzbekistan with a 5-0 thrashing of Yemen, Saturday.Next comes Iraq, which also qualified, Tuesday. A tie in that game will ensure that Korean finishes first and then will face the second-placed team from Group D in the next stage. It is too early to say whether this is preferable with Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Australia all possible. The win over Yemen was expected but was total. Korea off to good start with win over Uzbek

By John Duerden South Korea got off to a flying start at the Asian U23 championships in the early hours of Thursday morning (Seoul time) by defeating Uzbekistan 2-1 in the opening game of Group C.Moon Chang-jin of the Pohang Steelers scored a goal in each half thanks to an assist from the impressive Hwang Hee-chan, a former team-mate at the storied K-League club.Korea received a helping hand from the referee after 20 minutes. Hwang Hee-chan ran down the left, beat one defender at the byline, tried to chip the ball over the sliding Otabek Shukurov only for the referee to point to the spot for handling the ball. It actually hit the Uzbek in the chest though Moon didn't care as he coolly converted the penalty past Abdumavlon Abduljalilov.Prior to that, Uzbekistan had been on top, though Jeon Si-guk had the first chance of the game shooting straight at the goalkeeper from a good position. Their pressing had unsettled Shin Tae-yong's men and the midfield diamond was unable to get into the game and lacked fluency when it did.The goal settled the Taeguk Warriors down, though, soon afte

IT'S GOOD FOR YOUR GAME

Give yourself room for speedIf you lack distance with your driver, your problem may be a lack of width in your swing arc. You need a wide swing arc to give yourself room to build up clubhead speed ― the prime factor behind distance. The wide swing demonstrated in the photos below starts with full extension of the club, including a good stretch of the left arm at both address and during the takeaway. Here’s how it breaks down:At address, the player’s spine angle is set at a 90-degree angle to the club shaft to allow her left arm to hang straight. As you can see by looking down the target line in the left-hand photo, her right arm is only slightly bent, just enough to accommodate for the fact that both her right hand and shoulder are set lower than her left shoulder. This is a beautiful picture of full extension at address. The second photo shows her perfect extension at the end of the takeaway. These are the five essentials of full extension she has achieved: 1. Hands are waist high;2. Left arm and wrist are still straight;3. Right arm is still only slightly b
