President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol will be treated almost the same as President Moon Jae-in in accordance with the law until he is sworn in as the next president on May 10.
Yoon and his wife will be protected by the Presidential Security Service. He may stay at a safe house provided by the government or at his residence.
The President-elect will be provided with a bulletproof car, along with traffic control measures implemented by the police.
If Yoon travels abroad, he may receive protocols and protection equivalent to that of the President through arrangements with Cheong Wa Dae.
Yoon will also receive a landline and wireless telecommunication network access, with a secure connection for all possible scenarios.
The President-elect and his spouse are entitled to free medical care in national public hospitals and the state will pay for any private medical costs.
