South Korea, Japan, China to enhance biz ties

Business lobby groups of South Korea, Japan and China agreed Wednesday to cooperate for an early signing of a trilateral free trade deal on the sidelines of the three-way summit held in Tokyo.
In a joint declaration adopted in a trilateral business summit, the business leaders vowed to work together on a free trade pact and a comprehensive economic partnership between the three countries according to a statement of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) released Wednesday.
KCCI Chairman Park Yong-maan represented South Korea in the business summit alongside his counterparts Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of the Japan Business Federation, and Jiang Zengwei, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The leaders of the three countries including President Moon Jae-in also visited the business gathering after they adopted a special statement agreeing to cooperate on making a peaceful atmosphere on the Korean Peninsula, denuclearizing North Korea and establishing permanent peace in Northeast Asia.
The business leaders also pledged to boost cooperation on innovative growth in various fields ranging from economics to technology, it said.
Up to 15 business heads including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Yoon Boo-geun, Hyundai Motor President Chung Jin-haeng, SK innovation CEO and President Kim Jun and LG Electronics CEO Jo Seong-jin took part in the meeting. Fifty business leaders participated from the three countries.
