PHOTOS Revealed: Historic Moon-Kim summit room

The meeting room for the historic April 27 summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-un has been unveiled.
The presidential office opened the room to the media on Wednesday, two days before the historic meeting. It is on the second floor of Peace House, a multiuse building on the southern side of Panmunjeom. The three-story building had a full-scale renovation aimed at offering Kim the best meeting conditions in terms of security, communication and protocol.
The meeting room's blue carpet stands for peace. The width of the oval table's central part is 2,018 millimeters, representing this year. The backdrop painting is Mount Geumgang, in North Korea, by South Korean painter Shin Jang-sik. The mountain was once considered a symbol of inter-Korean reconciliation. The North opened the mountain to South Korean tourists in 1998 but it has been off limits since 2008 when a South Korean tourist was shot dead by North Korean soldiers.
The shape of the Korean Peninsula is engraved at the top of the chairs made for the two leaders. All wooden furniture in the room was made of walnut, known to resist twisting and bending.
