Ruling party chief sends congratulatory message to China's Xi
The chief of the ruling Democratic Party sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday on his re-election as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Rep. Choo Mi-ae said in the telegram that she hopes the two countries will further strength their relations and work together for a more prosperous and peaceful Northeast Asia after the election of China's new leadership.
Earlier in the day, Xi was elected the party's general secretary for a second term. Also elected was a seven-member Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee, including Xi and Premier Li Keqiang. (Yonhap)
