Breaking: MERS reported from North Jeolla Province

Health authorities received a report of a suspected case of MERS-CoV (Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus) in North Jeolla Province, Wednesday afternoon.

The report was from a woman, 25, in Jeongeup city.

"She had stayed four months in the Middle East, and returned to Korea last Saturday, on May 23,” health authorities said. “She has been showing symptoms of a slight cold since then."

Hospital officials in North Jeolla Province said: "We are ready to meet the requested medical response according to health authorities, but nothing specific has been delivered to us yet."
