Millennium Features Cantonese Cuisine

By Kim Tae-jong Staff Reporter Millennium Seoul Hilton has invited a guest chef specializing in Cantonese cuisine for a special one-week promotion, which lasts through July 10. Guest chef Fan Da Xiang from the Hilton Shanghai has joined the kitchen at the Seoul hotel's Chinese restaurant Taipan. During the promotion, he will create a range of Cantonese dishes available on the a la carte and prix fixe menus. Cantonese cuisine originates from Guangdong Province in southern China and is one of the most recognizable forms of Chinese cuisine. Although Xiang works in Shanghai, he said there is heavy influence on Shanghai cuisine by the Cantonese. ``We will feature many dishes which are very popular at the Hilton Shanghai,'' he said. ``Seafood will be used extensively as it has a broad appeal. All the ingredients used will be of the finest quality and prepared in a traditional and authentic way.''
