Key Tips on Preventing Cancer

Everyone knows cancer is a deadly disease. It was the most common cause of death among Koreans in 2005, leaving brain vascular disease and heart disease far behind.
Tumors can be found everywhere ― in the brain, liver, eyes and even the mouth. If removed at an early stage, it is possible to live for five years or more and even be considered cured, but a tumor found in the later stages likely means physical and mental suffering before death.
Some doctors say the dramatic growth rate of cancer is to be expected, given that Koreans are living longer. ``In the old days Koreans did not live up to the point where they would get cancer,'' Prof. Song Si-young of Yonsei Severance Hospital told The Korea Times.
Experts also say there are some factors that proliferate the prevalence ― genetic background, unhealthy diet, polluted environment, exposure to radioactive rays, severe stress and several others.
