Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo to wed in October

South Korea's top actor and actress, who co-starred in the smash-hit TV drama “Descendants of the Sun,” will tie the knot in October.
In a surprise announcement early Wednesday, Song Joong-ki, 32, and Song Hye-kyo, 35, said they will marry on “the last day of October.”
The announcement came as a shock to many -- not only in South Korea but also in many Asian countries where the drama was popular -- because the two have vehemently denied news reports they were dating.
“We are sorry for making this surprise announcement that may take many of our fans by surprise,” the two stars, nicknamed the Song-Song couple for their romantic ties in the drama, said. “We were very cautious because marriage is a joining of not just two of us but of two families.”
Song Hye-kyo’s management agency denied rumors it was a “shotgun wedding.”
Details of the wedding ceremony, including the venue and time, remain unknown.
