LG discussed ways to support Busan's potential hosting of World Expo 2030 at a workshop of presidents held last September. After the workshop LG's top executives decided to actively conduct promotional activities at home and abroad, noting that the Expo in Busan would be a nationally important and meaningful event.
In October last year, right after the workshop, LG CEO Koo Kwang-mo visited Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and asked for support for Busan's Expo bid. He then expressed his gratitude for the economic cooperation between LG and Poland, saying, “The venue for communication regarding the 'new hope and future' pursued by World Expos will hopefully be created in Busan.”

LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan is also visiting countries around the world as a special envoy of the country's foreign minister to ask for support for World Expo 2030 in Busan.
On March 13, he visited Brazil to meet with Rodrigo Pacheco, president of the Brazilian Federal Senate and invited 15 members of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies to the Korean Embassy in Brazil to inform them of the thinking behind hosting World Expo 2030 in Busan.
Then Cho flew to Chile the next day and met with Claudia Sanhueza, undersecretary of international economic relations at the Chilean Foreign Ministry, and Sebastian Gomez, director of the ministry's bilateral economic affairs and representative to Korea-Chile FTA negotiations, to ask for Chile's support for Busan's expo bid. He also visited three African nations last year to support Busan's bid for World Expo 2030.
