The suspect, 46, hung himself from a tree, according to Gumi Police Station. He allegedly stabbed another Mongolian migrant worker to death on Wednesday at the victim's studio apartment in Gumi. The victim was found under a blanket and the weapon was also at the scene. Police had been searching for the suspect.

Korean shows still have sexist content, survey shows

The survey shows that entertaining programs in Korea have sexist content. gettyimagesbankBy Dong Sun-hwaAt least one in two entertainment and lifestyle shows in Korea still contain sexist content, according to the recent survey by Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC). KCSC, the government body responsible for content, disclosed on Sunday that 61.5 percent of entertainment shows and 50 percent of lifestyle programs includes gender-discriminating content. The subjects of the survey were 39 entertainment programs and 20 lifestyle shows from major and minor broadcasting channels, aired in May 2018. Two episodes from each program were scrutinized. The entertainment shows displayed a male-centric trend, with female members comprising only 37.3 percent of the cast. The number of males was 608 ― about 1.7 times more than females. The main hosts and regular cast members of the entertainment programs were mostly men as well. But for the lifestyle programs, women outnumbered men. 'No. 2 man' of Unification Church dies

Pak Bo-hi died from chronic disease. YonhapBy Dong Sun-hwaPak Bo-hi, the “No. 2 man” of the Unification Church, died from chronic disease at 89 on Saturday. He had been in Cheongshim International Medical Center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, since 2018. Born in 1930, Pak fought in the Korean War in 1950. He rose as the right-hand man of Unification Church founder, Moon Sun-myung in the 1970s, helping Moon with English translation when the church was spreading its influence abroad. Pak's daughter had a “ghost marriage” with Moon's second son, who was killed in a car accident. Pak was founding president and chairman of the Washington Times board, and president of the Segye Times. He was also involved in business with North Korea. When former North Korean leader Kim Il-sung died in 1994, Pak went to North Korea to offer condolences.

The cause of her death was a drug overdose. She left a suicide note that read: “Please do not take me to our hospital when you find me, and I do not want my hospital people to offer me condolences.”The bereaved family claimed she had been harassed at work and demanded an investigation. The nurse once sent a message to her family saying she was not able to have a meal during the day. She also was chided for not making coffee well and scolded because of the noise her slippers made, according to the family. “The hospital made a call after the cremation, asking why she has been absent from work,” her younger brother said. “I was extremely enraged and hung up after telling them she died.”

Namyangju Police Station said on Thursday a complaint was filed in September. The accuser claimed she had been habitually sexually harassed and assaulted by the chef, the owner of the eatery, in and out of the workplace. “We have investigated both victim and the assailant but have not yet found any tangible evidence,” a police official said. “We secured communication data and are currently working on it.” The chef has reportedly denied the allegation. He is the father of a prominent female idol singer and also featured on a television show, according to several reports. CCTV footage showed the moment the students assaulted the Russian-Korean father-in-law and son-in-law. When one victim tried to flee, the attackers chased him and kicked him. The attack lasted several minutes. The father-in-law suffered a serious right eye injury and had an operation in Seoul.
