Radiation from a phone in your pocket can cause cancer, an American scientist says.

Doctor Devra Davis, who has been studying mobile phone radiation, claimed in a talk at Australia’s National Institute that radiation from mobile phones did more harm than good (radiation is used to treat liver cancer, detect cancer and enhance the absorption of drugs in the brain).

She cited a case in which a young woman who had been keeping her cell phone in her bra had tumors in her breast that were the same shape as her phone.

“The habit of putting cell phones in a bra ― and now there's a new device where you can actually have the phone strapped to your head ― made me concerned about what we know about exposure to phones,” she said.

She said radiation from mobile phones could harm DNA, male fertility and the brain.
