Dirty secrets of beards revealed

Some beards have as much fecal-matter bacteria as toilets, a study reveals.
Microbiologist John Golobic, of Quest Diagnostics in New Mexico, swabbed several beards to check their bacteria level.
The result showed some beards had normal bacteria, but others contained as much fecal matter as toilet bowls.
“There would be a degree of uncleanliness that would be somewhat disturbing,” said Golobic. He said a water system would have to be shut down if similar levels were inside.
According to Golobic, the secret to a clean beard is to wash your hands regularly and keep them away from your face as much as possible.
