World's biggest rabbits - like father like son

“Darius,” the world’s largest rabbit, is about to be outpaced by his son “Jeff” who, with still six months to grow, is already almost as big as his father.

Annette Edwards from Worcestershire, in the U.K., owns the two continental giants breeds, with Darius 1.2 meters long and weighing 22 kilograms, and Jeff, 1.1 meters, and still beefing up the weight.

Edwards spends more than over eight million won a year feeding the rabbits, including 2,000 carrots and 700 apples. The animals are so huge they live separately in dog kennels in the back garden.

Edwards says her giant bunnies are easy to rear because they do not need much attention. They are “very laid back and chilled out” and “even friendly to other animals,” Edwards says.

She told the Daily Mail she expected Jeff would soon be bigger than Darius and clinch the official Guinness record.
