Facebook CEO vows to read more books
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s New Year resolution is to become a bookworm, and he has invited his 30 million Facebook friends to follow him.
“My challenge for 2015 is to read a new book every other week ― with an emphasis on learning about different cultures, beliefs, histories and technologies,” he said on his Facebook page on Saturday.
He said he had created a page, called “A Year of Books,” on which he would post what he was reading so fellow readers could discuss the book.
“I'm excited for my reading challenge,” he said. “I've found reading books very intellectually fulfilling. Books allow you to fully explore a topic and immerse yourself in a deeper way than most media today. I'm looking forward to shifting more of my media diet towards reading books.”
Last month, he handed out copies of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s book “The Governance of China” to Facebook employees.
