'Tayo bus' debuts in Cannes

“Tayo the Little Bus” has made a splash in Cannes, France, after becoming a smash among Korean children.
Tayo is a popular animation character in Korea. Busses painted like the character are popular as well.
The success extended to Cannes over the weekend at MIP Junior, an international animation fair, where a bus decorated to look like Tayo was used as a shuttle.
Sunny Kim, CEO of the event’s organizer MIPCOM, came up with the idea to “serve as an opportunity to spread Korean animation to buyers and production and distribution managers worldwide.”
One British participant hailed Korean animation by noting the high quality.
“A lot of the businesses have their eyes fixed on Korean animations Tayo and Larva,” he was quoted as saying.
Seoul’s Tayo bus was a joint project between the Seoul Bus Association and the animation company Iconix Entertainment, to promote public transportation.
