Xi Jinping recalls history of killing Japanese
Chinese President Xi Jinping has drawn attention with his remark smacking of direct offensive on Japanese.
While looking around a district of Weiwuer in Xinjiang, he used the expression of “annihilating waegu (Japanese troops),” citing the history involving a general of Ming Dynasty.
“I came to recall how he did to expel the Japanese troops. They used sharp bamboo to prevent the Japanese from approaching and destroyed them with troops advancing equipped with shields,” Yonhap quoted Xi as saying.
Xi’s such statement drew interests as it came at a time when the relations between China and Japan have soured involving territorial issues.
