Giroemon Kimura, the world’s oldest person living in Kyoto, Japan, passed away at the age of 116.
He is recorded in the Guinness Book of World records as the oldest living person.
According to a report from a Japanese wire service, he was hospitalized for Pneumonia on May 11, recovered initially but showed signs of hypoglycemia.
Born on April 19, 1897, she lived for 116 years and 54 days. He worked as a translator in Korea in the 1920s. He has 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was registered as the longest living person on Dec. 17 last year after an American woman passed away at the age of 115 and was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.
