A nurse taped a pacifier to the mouth of a four-month-old to stop him crying.

His mom, Sarah, was furious because he was born prematurely and was suffering from breathing problems.

He was in ICU (intensive care unit) at Stafford Hospital in Britain.

“I’m so angry. Mason could have been killed.”

The worker responsible for this incident was suspended.

Sarah’s brother Paul said, “The nurse said they had seen the tape and not done anything. They thought it was OK to do this. It’s an appalling way to treat a child.”

A staff alerted officers after seeing a dummy taped across Mason’s mouth.

“There were no other tubes or wires attached to Mason, so the only conclusion was that the dummy was taped over his mouth to stop him crying,” said one of the staff.

Sarah added, “Obviously, the nurse couldn’t be bothered to tend to a crying baby and just shoved the dummy in to try and shut him up. It terrifies me that the person who did this could be free to do it again to him or somebody else.”
