Provocative vs prude: weathercasters compared

It is not uncommon for images of provocatively dressed weathercasters to gather attention on the web.

Two female weathercasters whose sensual attire has created an online buzz recently are from a Spanish language broadcaster in the U.S. and a state broadcaster from Latin America.

Critics say they are casting themselves rather than the weather, and that their clothes render the forecast inappropriate viewing for children.

Meanwhile, there is also a weathercaster whose costume has no match for being positively prude.

The photo at the bottom is known as a Finnish weathercaster, noted for her formal and dull drapes. Not even the most conservative parents would be able to complain about this.

And it seems viewers would have no problem understanding and concentrating on the conveyance of meteorological information.

The two ‘genres’ of weathercasting are doing their rounds of fora on the web.

"기상 정보 대신 자신을 어필하려는 것 아니냐", "어린 아이들이 보는데 너무 하는 것 아니냐"는 비판이 돌아와도 무리는 아니겠다.

한편 세상에는 건전하기 이를 데 없는 기상 캐스터도 있다.

맨 아래 사진은 핀란드의 기상 캐스터로 알려졌는데 지극히 사무적이고 건조하다. 아무리 예민한 부모라도 항의할 거리가 없다.

기상 정보가 귀에 쏙쏙 들어올 것 같다. 두 장르(?)의 기상 캐스터 극과극 대비는 해외 인터넷 화제 거리로 떠올랐다.
