Leslie Nielsen dies at 84
”Naked Gun” actor Leslie Nielsen died at age 84 due to complications from pneumonia on Sunday.
In addition, the Canadian comic actor has been famous for his role as a mischievous Lieutenant named Frank Drebin in the franchise of the movie “Naked Gun,” but he has his share of fame in both movies and television for about 60 years.
Also, the spokesman stated that Nielsen passed away in a hospital a few blocks away from his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, alongside his wife Barbaree and their friends.
The comedian was born on February 11, 1926 and was hailed from Regina, Saskatchewan. He is the son of a Canadian policeman. Before rising to stardom, Nielsen served a brief amount of time as an aerial gunner with the air force and likewise as a radio disc jockey prior in taking acting lessons in Toronto and then later, in New York City.
Nielsen got his first ever break in the movie scene in 1950, when he appeared in “Studio One.” Four years after, in 1954, Nielsen made it to Hollywood when he starred in the film “The Vagabond King,” under director Michael Curtiz.
Moreover, for the first 30 years of his career as an actor, Nielsen focused on TV shows like “The Virginian” and “Peyton Place,” and established a status for portraying authority character like the captain of the unfortunate cruise ship film “The Poseidon Adventure.”
However, the later generations recognized him for his comedy films such as “Airplane!” and the “Naked Gun” trilogy.

외신은 닐슨이 11월 29일 5시 34분경(현지 시각) 미국 플로리다주 자택에서 폐렴 합병증으로 향년 84세로 사망했다고 보도했다.
캐나다 출신의 희극배우인 레슬리 닐슨은 100편이 넘는 영화에 출연하며 특히 코미디 영화 '총알탄 사나이' 시리즈 등으로 전세계적인 인기를 얻었다.
